    Do It For James

I’m honored to share that my poem “My BPD” is featured in the newly released anthology Do It For James: Poetry On Purpose, published by Poetry Is Life Publishing in collaboration with the Do It For James Foundation. This compilation uplifts voices navigating grief, mental health, and the power of storytelling.

“My BPD” enacts the disorientation and longing that often accompany diagnosis, and the fierce clarity that comes with naming it.

    Furrily Loveable

My poem “Sunlight in Honey” appears in the latest issue of Furrily Loveable, a cozy publication celebrating cats, dogs, and their people. This piece threads joy, memory, and quiet companionship into golden verse.

I chose to honor the soft rhythms of nature, and the beings who walk beside us.

Grateful to be included among such tender voices.

    1st favorite

This winter, I stepped back into the woods, not just to breathe, but to be seen. And now updated headshots are live. These images were chosen for the back of my upcoming books and future publishing submissions.

These are my favorites, though not the full set. Each one carries the pulse of survival, the quiet defiance of Appalachian roots, and the clarity earned through grief and grit.

    They are not just portraits.
    They are proof.
    Of presence.

    Of pacing.

Of the poet behind the pages.

Stay tuned. The next releases are already forming.

    What’s Next

I’m continuing my collaborative writing chapter with Gay Hive Magazine, formerly Hush Magazine. I’ll be contributing work as they relaunch, continuing the kind of honest, purpose driven storytelling I care about. I’ll share published pieces as they go live.

Submissions are now open for the upcoming free quarterly issue of Poeaxtry’s Poetry Prism. Email poeaxtryspoetryprism@gmail.com to submit. I’m accepting art, poetry, prose, and essays through February 12, 2026. These quarterlys will also offer free ad placement for small businesses, independent presses, indie creatives, and community aligned projects. If you’re building something with heart and intention, there’s space for you here.

On my own desk, I’m in the final polish stage of several works in progress, shaping them toward completion rather than rush. “Humanoid Ideations: Meeting the Woman of Your Dreams,” “I wonder,” and “Sometimes the Prince Needs Saved” are reaching completion. • The Spill Volume 10-

    The Spill Volume 10-

    WIP to Fire!

I’ve been sitting with two new works that each bite a little deeper than usual. I’m knee-deep in human monster imagery, hallucinations on pages, and the smut and horror that cut both ways. You know me, I wanted to open the door a little wider. So I’m writing a body type horror that lives in our daily habits. It relates to simple acts like unwrapping a straw. It includes the tear of opening a ketchup packet and even the crack of a water bottle seal. I’ve been calling this new project “I Wonder.” I noticed how often the mundane is one blink away from becoming brutal.

If you know me, you know I love splatter-punk and horror gore. It felt right to try my hand at a different kind of poetic violence. Some grow out of the everyday rituals we never think twice about. Others are manifested by our own misery and deprivation.

It’s time to bring readers into the process.

Beta Readers, ARC Readers, and Street Team Sign Ups

I’m building three small but mighty teams. Each has a clear role, clear expectations, and a few thank-you bonuses from me.

    If you want in:

Email me at poeaxtry@gmail.com, or fill out the form(s) linked in this post. You can pick more than one or just one, whatever fits your schedule.

    Beta Readers

You get the raw draft, the crooked edges, the parts still dripping. You tell me what stumbles, what hits, what confuses, what claws at you in the right way.

    You get:

    • Early access to the rough manuscript

    • A digital finished copy upon release

    • Your name in the digital acknowledgments

    • A private PDF of cut pieces, alternate lines, or deleted stanzas, exclusive to beta members

    ARC Readers

You get the polished version right before launch. Your main task is simple, read and leave an honest review on at least one platform.

    You get:

    • Final digital copy

    • Your name listed as an early reviewer

    • Access to promo graphics you can share if you want

    • Optional Q and A email with me after launch

    Street Team

You help amplify. Sharing posts, boosting drops, nudging other readers. Low pressure, high impact. You’ll make posts prior to book launch & also post launch.

    You get:

    • Sneak peek excerpts

    • Street team only wallpapers or digital art

    • Name in the digital acknowledgments

    • The chance to win a physical gift for outstanding team players.

If you want to be part of these groups, email me or complete the sign-up form. I’m keeping it simple.

    More about the WIP

This piece is the heart of what I’m writing now. It blends hallucination, romance, rot, body-electricity, and all the strange cycles we call connection. Think sensory overload, think whispered illusions, think those little narrative pages where reality slips sideways. The full chapbook is coming along, poem by poem, story by story, and monster by monster.

  • The Spill: Vol: 9.5- Kindle Unlimited, Stones, and Surprises!

The Spill: Vol: 9.5- Kindle Unlimited, Stones, and Surprises!

📖 Hey, Spill readers — this is Volume 9.5.

A half-volume. A moment to pause, breathe, and catch you up between the big drops.

If you missed the last one, Volume 9 was all about Revolt, Solo zines, Collabs, and getting our bodies into motion particularly in nature aka hiking. And now Volume 9.5 picks up where that energy left off.

📚 Kindle Unlimited + Poeaxtry Publications

Just in case you missed it or forgot…

All 3 of my self-published eBooks plus my full prompt journal with poems written to every single prompt are available on Kindle Unlimited.

✨ Subscribers can read them all free with their membership.

Each piece is its own reflection, rooted in resistance, softness, and persistence, poetry that walks through the same dirt paths I do.

📖 Titles currently live on Kindle Unlimited:

    “Beginnings & Endings”

    “Because I was Prompted”

“Ramblings of the Lost and Found”

“I like to read; you like to watch the life drain out of a person.”

    🚨 Zines aren’t on Kindle Unlimited… yet.

You can still find every zine and eBook digitally on Etsy, Gumroad, and Payhip with more platforms coming soon… as I expand The Prism’s reach.

💌 Not a KU subscriber? No worries.

You can request free access to read any of my solo Poeaxtry Poetry Prism publications — all I ask in return is an honest review. Fill the form out here or email me at poeaxtry@gmail.com for any questions or concerns.

💎 New Creations from the Workbench

Between edits, submissions, and hikes, I’ve been busy in the studio. And I finally upgraded my jewelry designs.

The new bales I ordered changed everything: now, each piece dangles freely, no longer cradled by a “ball”. It’s just the stone, the metal, the magic. Though you can still get the stones with the balls & still be able to change stones out. There’s just two options now instead of one!

They move, catch the light differently, and feel more alive. That on theme with the rest of what’s changing around here.

Keep an eye out for new listings of stone necklaces and keychains soon on Etsy or Locally at Frogwood Boardshop in Heath, Ohio.

    🌿 Trails, Edges, and Inspiration

My most recent hike took me all the way to The Edge of Appalachia preserve. A place that felt like standing in two worlds at once.

The silence out there writes its own poems if you listen long enough.

There’s something about dirt, stone, and distance that sharpens your creative edges. At least for me it does.

That trip brought a lot of clarity, and maybe even sparked the next adventure… we’ll see.

Oh and expect a surprise zine and/or ebook drop sometime. I am honestly, sitting on a few completely finished just waiting for me to give in and, give them to you.

✍️ 15 Poems & a Manuscript Out in the World

For the first time in a while, I submitted 15 poems to publications outside my own press. And for the first time ever I submitted an entire manuscript. Fingers crossed🤞🏻

It’s nerve-wracking, grounding, and freeing. Somehow all at once.

Every “submit” click is another way of saying, I still believe in this.

    📢 Collabs Still Open

Both of the following collabs are still live and accepting submissions:

💬 Voices for the Voiceless — for marginalized creators and allies speaking on silenced or stolen narratives.

🌈 The Joy They Can’t Erase — a collection centered on joy, resistance, and unapologetic presence from gender nonconformist voices and allies.

You can always find details and submission links through The Prism hub or my links.

    💬

This little half-volume is a pulse check. The proof that even between the “big” releases, there’s always movement here.

New work, new stones, new trails new seasons, and new stories.

I am still creating, still showing up, still loud where silence used to live, and even more unapologetic about it.

Thank you for walking this with me.

  • The Spill: Revolt, Solo Zines, Collabs, and moving vol 9

The Spill: Revolt, Solo Zines, Collabs, and moving vol 9

This is Volume 9 of The Spill, the newsletter where I gather up recent Poeaxtry_ news. What I have been pouring into lately: the projects, the gear, the hikes, the collabs, and the small but steady steps toward building something lasting.

    Twitch Possibilities

The Twitch space is opening wide with possibilities. Think gaming sessions, live rock slicing, witchy streams with tarot readings, pendulum work, spell crafting, foraging rituals, and even virtual rockhounding trips. Poetry readings will land here too. This is a place where all the threads of Poeaxtry_ can weave into something more interactive.

    Revolt & Multi-Platform Mission

The Revolt server (think Discord, but different) is live, and it’s part of the bigger mission: being present in multiple places so no one in the community is locked into an app they don’t like or use. Our hub is meant to be open and accessible wherever you feel most comfortable, not confined by corporate walls.

    Discord Makeover

The Discord itself is getting a proper refresh: clearer names, straightforward descriptions, and more sections to come. No fluff, just an easier way to find what you need and connect with who you want.

    Gear Upgrade

Content creation just got an upgrade with a new tripod that’s going to make stream and recordings cleaner across the board. It doubles as a SELFIE STICK! A “gym bag” I found has transitioned into my field pack. It is loaded with pockets, clip-on options, and even an expandable section. Add an inflatable camping mat to the list (a masons type resell bin score, green and sustainable), and yes shoes! I got new Chuck Taylors that’ll sneak their way into a hike or twenty.

    Fossils & Rockhounding

Lately I’ve gotten fossils from Sylvia’s Fossil Park and in Richmond, Indiana. So I’ve been cleaning whole plates and full pieces. The finds out there are incredible: brachiopods, trilobites, corals, and other ancient remnants that remind me why rockhounding is so much more than collecting. It’s connection to time itself.

    Collabs & Publishing

Both of my current collabs are still open! Kelso Volume 1 has officially been published! On top of that, I’m already working on another solo zine. The momentum doesn’t pause here.

    Adventures & Trips

Last week had been packed: Blacklick Sky Canopy, Millikan Falls, and the Columbus Rose Garden all got their share of footsteps in the same day. This week, I’ll be heading to Conkle’s Hollow in Hocking Hills on Thursday, September 25 for another stretch of trail time and inspiration.

The Spill is always about what’s moving, what’s being built, and what’s on the horizon. Volume 9 marks another turn in the path, with community spaces growing, creative work expanding, and small joys. fossils to new gear… carrying forward.

The Spill: Vol. 8- TransOhio, New Zines, and More

    Trans Ohio Symposium Announcement:

I’m honored to announce that I’ve been approved to speak at the upcoming Trans Ohio Symposium. This marks my First time presenting, and I’m eager to contribute to this vital conversation.

    Quick Backstory:

I slammed this zine together for the Symposium and edited it in under a week. I still managed to work my five 12-hour night shifts and then drove all the way to the Red River Gorge after work on Wednesday morning. Yes, following my Tuesday night shift. Explored rock hounded, collected a bank of amazing views, wandered trails, and didn’t make it home until 3 a.m. Thursday. I then still got everything ready and out the door. To the TransOhio Dropbox for set-up. That’s the kind of grind behind these projects.

    Exploring New Community Platforms:

I’m actively seeking more inclusive and functional community platforms beyond Discord. Currently, I’m considering:

    • Engayge: nonprofit social networking platform designed for LGBT+ communities. Offers Business listings and events with an aim to uplift the LGBT+ community through connection, resources, and support.

    • Twitch: For streaming and connecting live with community members, potentially for readings and discussions.

    • Sup: Community app providing support and connection for individuals facing life challenges.

I’ll share updates once I test these platforms to see which align best with our community’s needs.

    Amino App Warning

It’s important to note that Amino has serious safety concerns. The app has been repeatedly flagged for predator activity, ineffective moderation, and exposure of users, particularly minors, to unsafe situations. Reports from parents and monitoring groups highlight grooming incidents, inappropriate content, and predatory behavior as ongoing risks. Due to these verified safety issues, Amino is not a recommended space for community engagement, especially for youth.

    New Zine Releases

I’m thrilled to share the latest zine Zipper Titty, following my model separating zines from e-books. It includes six add-ons, one of which is a collector image unique to this edition.

Additionally, a new zine is in the works & shhhh, it is a secret for now, a little different from my usual style, so stay tuned.

    Recent Poetry Highlights

    • Miss Me With It – On toxic friendships and moving on. Read it here.

    • Them – Reflections on falling in love with my partner and cherishing the moments of true happiness.

    • Yuletide Fire – My contribution to Forever With Pride, coming in the Christmas Catalog.

Voices for the Voiceless & The Joy They Can’t Erase

These zines remain central to my work, amplifying marginalized voices and celebrating resilience and joy. They’re available for anyone seeking powerful, inclusive narratives. To contribute to until 12/12/25 at least.

    Closing Thoughts

There’s a lot on the horizon: new platforms, zines, poetry, and adventures.
Thank you for being part of this journey, for reading, and for supporting these projects.
Stay tuned for more updates, and keep exploring with me!

The Spill Volume 7: Poems, Vacation Adventures, Hidden Freebies, and What’s Next with Poeaxtry_

    Vacation

It’s been one hell of a few weeks. I picked up extra days at work to prepare for vacation. All while I am still trying to deal with some kind of collarbone or shoulder injury. I hope to eventually figure out which one. I just got back from a great vacation filled with hiking, climbing, and chasing waterfalls. We also swam a lot. Those steps at Frying Pan Tower are still burning my thighs. Of course, I am already missing my sister and all the good times we had. It definitely ended way too soon.

My drive home wasn’t boring, either. I stopped at New River Gorge and Hawk’s Nest. I checked out Lover’s leap and Cathedral Falls. I was drenched by rain, but it was worth every damn drop. The photos and videos say it all. Damn, I love those views!

    Creativity

On the creative side, I have a bunch of new poems. They include: “This Part of Me Is Sick,” “Not the Sun,” and “A Reminder.” I’m thinking about dropping some of those soon, so keep your damn eyes peeled. I honestly have loads more that haven’t made it here yet. If you know what’s up, you’ll stay tuned for more Poeaxtry’s Poetry Prism madness.

Oh, yea! I’m hiding interactive extras in my E-zines to differentiate them from an E-book! Some things will even be collectible from zine to zine! You’ll have to check them out to see!

Around where I hike and roam, I’ll be hiding bookmarks that link to free digital downloads. One batch sends you to PayHip, the other to Gumroad. They will each have a one time use code! It’s just my way of keeping the community connected, offering freebies, and getting my work out there! Check hiking trails and free libraries near you!

Speaking of zines, Tethered Fury is out now on Gumroad and PayHip for $9.99. I haven’t put it on Etsy. I am mostly trying to continue moving away from Etsy completely after the Alligator Alcatraz fiasco. Right now, I’m focusing on PayHip, Gumroad, and maybe Ko-fi for digital sales and freebies. What do you think? Are the cool kids still on Etsy? Has anything really changed? Let me know where you think I should be selling my physical products next.

    Free Zines?

If you want to connect, or if you need a free copy of Tethered Fury, check out my Connections page. This is especially for those with BPD or another mental illness. You can also email me at poeaxtry@gmail.com. Just ask for the BPD Free Zine code. I’m also always happy to hook you up with freebies in exchange for honest reviews or other indie creations. DM me for details.

Thanks for sticking with me through the mess. I’m back on the grind and keeping things moving on time, or at least closer to on time!

Don’t forget my two community collaborations projects. They will feature art, essays, poems, and prose from minority voices. Check my projects page or email me at poeaxtry@gmail.com if you want in or want more info.

It will be clearly marked as a remix or variation of the original. These are living spells, tied to the moment and what materials speak at the time.

Allergy concerns? Though I do live in the moment and create with intent health concerns are obviously not something I take lightly. Please email me! I’ll get you the item you want minus your allergen or something else that fits your need and keeps you safe.

The Spill: Letters from Poeaxtry, Volume 5.5; 4:46 AM Punches, Giggles & a Etsy Sale

    The Spill vol. 5.5

    Hey friends,

So, last night at 4:46 AM, Kelso rolled over in their sleep and accidentally punched me. Their sleepy apology was this drawn-out, soft “sorrrrry,” followed by a mischievous giggle… and then, just like that, they were back to snoring as if nothing happened. It’s those perfectly imperfect little moments that remind me how lucky I am.

To celebrate my 3 published poems, I’m offering 30% off everything in my Etsy shop with promo code MAG30, good until June 11th. Whether you’re looking for hand-polished rocks, geodes, or poetry collections, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself or someone special.

Thanks for being part of this wild, magical journey with me. More poems and volumes are on their way soon.

Last but not least, I’m hoping to connect with other creators, poets, authors, & artists for promo exchanges. I’d like to start small. By trading digital content one by one, to build trust on both sides and a genuine community. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to reach out at poeaxtry@gmail.com.

    Much Love,

🚨The Spill: Letters from Poeaxtry, Volume Five: Small Business Warning: My Experience With a Misleading Promoter🚨

    Vol. 5- newsletter : May 31st, 2025.

Lesson Learned vet Promoters and have them make reels & post ebooks before I send any physical items.

    🚨 Small Business Warning🚨

Let me be clear: do not reach out to Daisy Marie Moncrief.

This post isn’t about harassment or revenge. Karma is my homie, and my craft speaks louder than any confrontation ever could. I have 5 litter boxes and I know it’s fitting

I’m sharing this so other artists and makers don’t end up in the same situation.

Daisy was the only promoter who ever asked to join my team she reached out to me after I made a post. The others who followed through were all ones I pitched too. She told me she loved my handmade creations and wanted to post them. I agreed and mailed her $81 worth of custom product, free of charge. She confirmed delivery and said she was excited to share.

    But then she went silent.

After some time, she explained she had just moved and needed space to settle in. I completely understood . O hate moving too. I gave her months, I waited silently. I didn’t pressure her. I didn’t nag. I trusted she was just not ready.

After waiting patiently, I sent two polite nudges on TikTok. She ignored them both. Until

she finally responded, she told me she had “a new boyfriend and didn’t have time for this (you know her end of the bargain) .” She also claimed she doesn’t post at all anymore. I looked she had posted five times just the day before. I followed up kindly and created an invoice, giving her another full month to pay or see me in small claims court.

That’s when she said she lives in a tent, has no job, and can’t pay me back. She then said my work was shit. Even though she had praised it before I had put boundaries in place.

    I want to be clear:

🟣 I never asked for money in the beginning.

🟣 I didn’t want anything but a few honest, creative posts.

🟣 I don’t want the items back. She got sent. Spray she claimed was empty and I know it was not.

🟣 I definitely don’t want promotion from someone who talks down on my work because she was asked to hold up her end. And then offers to make one measly post. I said no it’s within my legal rights.

I just wanted mutual respect and a fair collaboration Instead, I got ghosted, disrespected, and dismissed. And a total lack of accountability.

I’m not here to ruin anyone’s life. I’m not profiting off her. I’m not even mad anymore, I am just wiser. I do not need her to pay money she doesn’t have or make a video I’m no longer willing to use. I want not one tie to someone who is clearly looking to scam. I will not be scammed or disrespected in silence.

If you’re a creator, especially a marginalized one:

Please protect your energy. Vet your collaborations. Don’t give away your labor and craft without care. It needs to be fair. So you are aware fair isn’t free shit and no follow through.

Moving forward, I will still offer free items (with free shipping) for collabs. The promoter should have a min 1 k followers. They will receive 1 digital copy of one of my books for free. When they make their posts and reels for the first e-book, we can discuss sending the next, until all digital material is promoted. We will move onto physical items and reading and I will send one at a time until a relationship is established.

I’ll be busy tonight with the craft. Trust, I’m alright. Karma never misses. 🌙

    Newsletter Vol. 4- May 21st, 2025

Grief doesn’t wait but neither do deadlines…

I’ve had a whirlwind of good news I wanted to share. Sometimes, the world opens its arms even while it’s on fire.

Three of my poems: “1/3,” “Freedom of Speech,” and “Say Sam’s Name” were accepted and published in Manic World Magazine. “1/3” also found a home in Darkly Beautiful by Magique Publishing, and another piece, “Lemonade,” is set to appear in their upcoming issue. On top of that, a short but deep 5–6 question interview will be featured in Joyfully Wondrous (also through Magique Publishing), where I got to speak on what makes my craft, identity, and the weird beauty of writing your guts out for strangers.

If that wasn’t enough ink on the page, I’ve officially partnered with Forever With Pride a UK based e-magazine for the next year. Expect more poems, features, and raw queer joy shared through that platform soon.

    New Book Release:

“I Like to Read; You Like to Watch the Life Drain Out of a Person”

Now available on Kindle Unlimited, Amazon, and Etsy

This solo collection holds 60+ poems all penned between the end of 2024 and the early moments of 2025. It’s a personal, aching, layered look at what life has thrown at me: loss, love, rage, healing, transition, justice, and all the in-betweens.

It’s yours if you want it.

    Coming Soon:

“Sometimes the Prince Needs Saving Too”

This upcoming e-book breaks my usual format. While I often write micro and shorter poems, this collection is different with multi-page poems, sprawling and bruised, holding space for vulnerability that takes time.

The theme? Masculinity, survival, softness, reclamation, moving on.
